FIRST WOMEN of Yamhill county to be sworn into the new WAVE reserve program of the U.S. Navy are Violette Stenseth, left, and Ann Curtis. Kenneth R. Cross Lt. (jg) USNR, is administering the oath. The commander of the McMinnville Naval Reserve unit said it is now possible for women to enlist in the Reserve without previous military training.
