Arlene De Lashmutt plays nursemaid to this three day-old fawn in state police office here. The fawn was picked up Thursday by log truck driver on the Jones Logging company road. Left in the middle of the road by its mother, the driver removed it to the side of the road but the mother evidently dlsliked the man-smell and hadn't returned to the fawn in over a day. Lest this appealing photo start residents of the area on a fawn hunt, J. C. Nagely, district game supervisor, warned this week that any fawn picked up must be turned in to the state offices and that the commission was discouraging issuance of permits to keep the wild creatures. Best procedure, he said, is to Ieave the fawn since the mother is probably nearby.
