September 9, 1962br/Back To School - Dr. William Burton (left), former McMinnville high school teacher, was in McMinnville Tuesday to speak at an in-service training session of the systemrsquo;s school teachers. He wanted to look at his old classroom, from the 1915-16 period, but it was removed when the old Lincoln high school was remodeled to be used as the present junior high school. Dr. Burton, who was director of teacher education at Harvard University for 16 years, now is retired but still active in educational activities. He is shown with Wayne Tate, vice-principal at the junior high, examining the cornerstone plaque of the building. It tells the building was erected in 1910 and lists the three members of the school board at that time.
