January 30, 1962 Alternatebr/ School safety patrol equipment was donated to Cook, Columbus and St. James schools in McMinnville by the McMinnville Kiwanis club, with these three youngsters wearing some of the equipment received at Columbus. The service club supplied raincoats and helmets for youngsters on each school safety patrol for use when they are manning their flags at school crosswalks. Youngsters (left to right) Marlys Diederich, Katey Dyke, Columbus patrol captain, and Kenny Docekal. Representing the Kiwanis club were Eldore Baisch (left) and police chief Roy Brixey, while Principal Fred Baugh assisted in outfitting the youngsters.
