Vast Public Shooting grounds for ducks is visionaged in a project south of Carlton now under consideration by Elmer and Melvin Bernards, prominent Yamhill County farmers. Elmer surveys part of the huge 100-acre-plus tract bordering the Yamhill River about a half-mile south of Carlton Lake. Public waterfowl for 60 to 120 hunters is see. The brothers today announced optioning of the farm and plan to turn it into the county’s first commercial wildlife project. Local hunters greeted the project with enthusiasm, pointing out it may open a new industry for the county and may draw in large numbers of ducks for other hunting areas of the county.
