CUTTING THE RIBBON marking climax of dedication ceremonies opening LRl's new Linke Hall was Oregon’s Gov. Mark Hatfield, left. The program at the new building, which followed an hour-long convocation at Melrose chapel on the Linfield campus, was held at 5:30 Saturday afternoon. Brief ceremonies, featuring a talk by E.E. Marsh, president of Research Development Corp., a non-profit local organization organized to aid LRI programs, and acceptance of the building by G.N. Hickock, treasurer and business manager of LRI. Watching the ceremonies are, from left, Mrs. Hatfield, Marsh, Hickock and Mrs. E.J. Linke, who with her husband provided financing for the new structure. Behind Mr.s Linke is Dr. Walt Dyke, director of LRI and nationally recognized leader in field emission research.
