Police hold spot vehicle check; light problems common

Looking under the hood was part of the state police spot safety inspection check last week on Highway 99W. Officers give a brief but thorough inspection to many cars during a three-hour period. If deficiencies are found, officers give the drivers a slip requiring correction within 15 days. Most people are very receptive to the check.
