Lafayette School Principal Jack Beu opens for students following class in gym next door to main building. School District 40 has decided to close school at the end of this school year as part of a master plan recently adopted by the school board and budget committee. Citizens of Lafayette are protesting closure as unnecessary. They plan to voice objections to the closure when the district budget is presented Monday evening at the district offices in McMinnville. Petitions were being circulated Friday and this weekend by Lafayette citizens in support of their position.
