Awe-Struck Johnny Carpenter, MC of the Hi Neighbor show on Portland’s KGW-TV, Channel 6, looks on in amazement at paraphernalia required to compete in McMinnville’s famed Turkey-Rama turkey races. Carpenter received a personal challenge to take on Linfield Athletic Director Paul Durham, right, during his show Friday. The well-known news and sports announcer agreed to be in McMinnville at the 2:30 p.m. race time Saturday, July 11, to test his turkey-charming ability against Durham. Chamber President C.E.
