May 31, 1957br/Newberg -- General Lamar Tooze gets acquainted with three little girls whose father didnrsquo;t come back from Korea. The girls unveiled the community memorial and laid the first wreath at its base, during the dedicatory ceremonies here Thursday at which Gen. Tooze (left) gave the principal address. The McGrew sisters (from left) are Mary Ellen and Kathy, who drew back the bunting from the monument, and Jeanne, who placed a wreath in memory of their father. At right of them is Harold Cornell, chairman of the Newberg Community War Memorial committee, who presented the monument to the city. It was accepted by Mayor Homer Hester (extreme right).
